GRA received a distress call late on a Saturday afternoon and when we got to site the picture wasn’t pretty…
The whole main switchboard had gone up in smoke and left us with no choice but to separately feed the sub boards. The boys from GRA managed to tailor a solution and feed the 8 outgoing sub mains utilising two of its combination circuit breaker boards and 2 x 500kva gensets running in parallel. The owners of the property were in the process of making alternative plans for their staff for Monday morning before the GRA team arrived. They were then pleasantly surprised to see we had the whole facility back online by Sunday afternoon, less than 24 hours after the major incident! The equipment ran for approx. 5 weeks while a new board was installed and GRA kept fuel up to the bulk tanks for the duration of the job.
